About 14 years ago, when we first opened our doors to the public, we had the pleasure of meeting and befriending the legendary Duane Eddy, who at the time was looking to sell a beautiful 1957 Gibson F-5 Mandolin. Mr. Eddy purchased it brand new from the infamous Ziggie’s Music in Phoenix, Arizona, in 1958 (the same place he bought his first 1957 Chet Atkins Gretsch 6120), and kept it around his house for the countless impromptu jams that would inevitably happen when his musical friends would stop by. Even though Mr. Eddy wasn’t known for playing the mandolin, we still found a buyer for it in less than two weeks, and off it went to its new home somewhere in the Carolinas. We’ll never forget Mr. Eddy, and to this day are still honored to have had the pleasure of helping him sell his beloved mandolin. It was very sad to hear of his death this morning, and we offer our sincere condolences to his lovely wife, Deed, his four children, and all of his family and friends. Eddy was a pioneer, and his humble nature will be sorely missed. May he finally rest in peace, and enjoy his place among the many legends that went before him. He was an inspiration to many, including everyone here at BVG. God bless the entire Eddy family. #duaneeddy #rebelrouser #kingoftwang #rockabilly #petergunn #bluesvintagege #bvg #bvgnashville #nashville #musiccity #hipdonelson #guitarsdaily #guitarsofinstagram #guitardaily #bestguitarshopinnashville #gibson #gibsonguitars #gibsonlespaul #lifeistooshorttoplayalousyguitar #vintageguitar #vintageguitars #vintageguitarshop #vintageguitarstore #fenderguitar #gretschguitars
We’re feeling lucky lately, and 2024 is off to a great start, so far. We wish everyone else the same!! We got our hands on a couple of really nice @alien_audio_bass guitars recently, and here’s one of them. This is a slightly demoed 30” short scale 5-string; body is alder, finish is oxblood faded finished with matching headstock; pups are Seymour Duncan (single P); and it’s all passive. Unbelievable bass, and priced to sell at $2500. Added note: this bass is one of a few custom built for one of the world’s best players. Can you guess who? #bluesvintagege #bvg #bvgnashville #nashville #musiccity #hipdonelson #guitarsdaily #guitarsofinstagram #guitardaily #bestguitarshopinnashville #gibson #gibsonguitars #gibsonlespaul #lifeistooshorttoplayalousyguitar #vintageguitar #vintageguitars #vintageguitarshop #vintageguitarstore #fenderguitar #gretschguitars #rickenbackerguitars #elvis #elvispresley #elvispresleyfans #elvisisinthebuilding #elvisisstillalive
These guys are the bomb!! @theburningbreeze are a southern rock band out of south Florida, who over the last two weeks completed their first road trip thru the southeastern US. They stopped in Nashville for a sweltering show at Twin Kegs II this past Thursday night. They’ll be back sometime soon, and we’ll be right here to tell you all about it. In the meantime check out their social media pages and website for info on their music, shows, and all the guys. Along with being great musicians, these guys are also great human beings. Don’t miss them if they play your town/city. Thanks to @verndaysel @nicoswarley @marcusleedrums @cobydante … and best of luck to y’all!! #bluesvintagege #bvg #bvgnashville #nashville #musiccity #verndaysel #verndayselband #theburningbreeze #southernrock #hipdonelson #guitarsdaily #guitarsofinstagram #guitardaily #bestguitarshopinnashville #gibson #gibsonguitars #gibsonlespaul #lifeistooshorttoplayalousyguitar #vintageguitar #vintageguitars #vintageguitarshop #vintageguitarstore #fenderguitar #gretschguitars #rickenbackerguitars #elvis #elvispresley #elvisisinthebuilding
Looking for a one-of-a-kind guitar? Here’s a 2006 Gibson Custom Shop ES-339, serial number CS61347. The guitar was given to Manuel “Manny” Cuevas ( @wearitoutbymanny ) in 2008 with a finished neck but unfinished body. He then created this extraordinary and unparalleled hand-tooled leather covering for it, featuring Cannabis leaf-themed carvings on both the front and back, with a skull in the middle of the design on the back. The result is one of the most magnificent guitars we’ve ever had the pleasure of offering. It really must be seen in person to be fully appreciated. Pictures don’t do it justice. The workmanship is nothing short of amazing. People who see it will turn completely around for a second look. The guitar both plays and sounds perfect. Manny, of course, is the son of legendary artisan, Manuel, former Nudie employee and designer/maker of handmade iconic clothing for some of the world’s biggest stars and entertainers since the 1950s. Manny started working with his father when he was 6 years old, rhinestoning suits, hand-lacing dresses, and tooling leather. He helped relocate his father’s shop from Los Angeles to Nashville in 1991, and was even more inspired by his family’s business and legacy. By 2009 Manny would branch out on his own as the founder, owner and designer of @wearitoutbymanny and never looked back. He has designed every type of custom apparel for the likes of The Band Perry, Ronnie Dunn, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Jr., Dwight Yoakam, Daniel Peck, Bridget Tatum, Keith Gattis, and Paul McDonald, among many others. As he states on his website, “[Manny] is infusing new energy into traditional patterns, embellishments, contrast stitching, vivid embroideries, and a keen use of rhinestones and palettes combined with exotic skins…” Manny Cuevas is a true national treasure, and a Nashville icon. This is the only guitar he has ever outfitted with custom hand-tooled leather. There isn’t another one like it anywhere in the world, and we are now offering it for sale exclusively. Price is $10,000 USD, and includes the original Gibson Custom Shop hardshell case, and all case candy. Please contact us directly for additional pictures or information.
