These guys are the bomb!! @theburningbreeze are a southern rock band out of south Florida, who over the last two weeks completed their first road trip thru the southeastern US. Looking for a one-of-a-kind guitar? Here’s a 2006 Gibson Custom Shop ES-339, serial number CS61347. The guitar was given to Manuel “Manny” Cuevas ( @wearitoutbymanny ) in 2008 with a finished neck but unfinished body. He then created this extraordinary and unparalleled hand-tooled leather covering for it, featuring Cannabis leaf-themed carvings on both the front and back, with a skull in the middle of the design on the back. The result is one of the most magnificent guitars we’ve ever had the pleasure of offering. It really must be seen in person to be fully appreciated. Pictures don’t do it justice. The workmanship is nothing short of amazing. People who see it will turn completely around for a second look. The guitar both plays and sounds perfect. Manny, of course, is the son of legendary artisan, Manuel, former Nudie employee and designer/maker of handmade iconic clothing for some of the world’s biggest stars and entertainers since the 1950s. Manny started working with his father when he was 6 years old, rhinestoning suits, hand-lacing dresses, and tooling leather. He helped relocate his father’s shop from Los Angeles to Nashville in 1991, and was even more inspired by his family’s business and legacy. By 2009 Manny would branch out on his own as the founder, owner and designer of @wearitoutbymanny and never looked back. He has designed every type of custom apparel for the likes of The Band Perry, Ronnie Dunn, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Jr., Dwight Yoakam, Daniel Peck, Bridget Tatum, Keith Gattis, and Paul McDonald, among many others. As he states on his website, “[Manny] is infusing new energy into traditional patterns, embellishments, contrast stitching, vivid embroideries, and a keen use of rhinestones and palettes combined with exotic skins…” Manny Cuevas is a true national treasure, and a Nashville icon. This is the only guitar he has ever outfitted with custom hand-tooled leather. There isn’t another one like it anywhere in the world, and we are now offering it for sale exclusively. A while back we purchased from a Gibson employee an unused, completely unfinished (raw wood) 2006 Gibson SG Standard bass manufactured right here in Nashville by Gibson USA. When our in-house master luthier Steve Burdick saw it his mind started racing. Steve’s painted a few cool guitars for some of the world’s best players, including Ace Frehley, Paul Stanley, and Mike Suppa, among others, plus a few classic cars. When he saw this “naked” bass he asked if he could paint it. He didn’t have to ask twice. Our answer was “Go for it!” Steve decided to make it a truly one-of-a-kind bass and give it an absolutely gorgeous Starlight Blue Prism flake finish. Let’s just say PHOTOS DON’T DO THIS GUITAR JUSTICE! In person or under any light source, this bass gives off a very colorful and magnificent prism effect that seems to float within the Starlight Blue background. The visual effects are nothing short of stunning. And the cool thing is that there’s not another one like it anywhere! We documented the entire process, and have tons of photos. All parts and hardware are brand new original Gibson parts, and they all came directly from Gibson.
